Nikola-Lenivets Park
At the end of the ХХ century the village with the cute name of Nikola-Lenivets was not the most welcoming place - less than a dozen dilapidated houses and even fewer inhabitants. However, the landscape has always been gorgeous - typical Russian vastness: the high banks of the Ugra, endless fields, forests and groves.
This village with a rich cultural heritage could have disappeared without a trace, if it were not for a group of Moscow artists, who discovered Nikola-Lenivets and then introduced the place to a broad audience from around the world. Since 2006, Nikola-Lenivets has hosted Arkhstovanie International Landscape Design and Artistic Objects Festival each summer and winter.
Nikola-Lenivets and its surrounds have become a modern outdoor museum, while the village itself has been turned into a beautiful artists commune with artists, architects, designers and their families living in picturesque houses.
